COMMENTARY Celebrated director Doris Dorrie’s “Cherry Blossoms” concerns the enriching odyssey of life lived after the death of a loved one, tracing that specific psychological abyss for a German man at ease with his habitual life and now confronted with cataclysmic change. Endearing, modestly tear-jerking, and basted with just enough culture shock oddity to keep the cinematic brew tart and curious, “Blossoms” is an emotionally charged pearl of a film.
SYNOPSIS When Trudi learns that her husband Rudi is dangerously ill, she suggests visiting their children in Berlin without telling him the truth. As Franzi and Karl don't care much about their parents, Trudi and Rudi go to the Baltic Sea, where Trudi suddenly dies. Rudi is thrown out of gear, even more when he learns that his wife wanted to live a totally different life in Japan

“ It was an emotional, tear producing and thought provoking movie. It felt great to discuss it afterwood and get to know new people. It is so nice of Nestor to organize this. ”
“ A very emotional, and beautiful film about a mans journey to follow the path of true love. The scene when Mount Fuji is finally revealed was breath taking to me.
I love Nestor's choice of films, he picks so many wonderful ones! ”
